Course Includes: S-130 Firefighter training- 41 hours S-190 Introduction to Fire Behavior- 8 hours I-100 Introduction to ICS - 0.25 hours L-180 Human Factors- 4 hours Field exercise requires boots and gloves. S-110 Basic Firefighter Orientation- 0.25 hours IS-700 FEMA- 1 hour DATES (1A) April 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 (1B) April 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 (2) May 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (3) June 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (4) July 7, 8, 9,10, 11, 12 (5) August 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 (6) September 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (7) October 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 10-hour class days to emulate minimum shift requirements on incident, staging, severity, and operational preparedness. *With >1/2-hour lunches and varied intermission. This course encourages field time and is programed to be taught in either the classroom or in the field. The course provides entry-level firefighters skills and highlights the recognition of potentially hazardous situations and the primary factors that affects the start and spread of wildfire. The course also meets the fire behavior training needs of a Firefighter Type 2 on incidents as outlined in the NIMS: Wildland Fire Qualification System Guide, PMS 310-1, and the position task book developed for the position. Course Prerequisites: None Minimum Requirements: 1. Complete S-130, S-190, I-100, L-180, and IS-700. 2. Pass Work Capacity Fitness Test (Arduous). 3. Complete Annual RT-130 training. Note: Not required for first year FFT2. 4. Firefighter becomes certified as a FFT2
